Is your skill set a commodity? Are you a commodity? If there is an ample supply of Consultant Type X, how come they are not competing against you for this project? These are good questions to ask as the economy weakens, and as you are faced with big questions on what to do with your price. And by the way you should answer, “No. I’m not a commodity, and I have a unique skill set” – or something along those lines.
